Most often, when it comes to data recovery on a phone or tablet, you need to restore photos from the internal memory of Android. Previously, the site considered several ways to restore data from the internal memory of Android (see Data Recovery on Android ), but most of them involve starting the program on the computer, connecting the device and the subsequent recovery process.
The DiskDigger Photo Recovery application in Russian, which will be discussed in this review, works on the phone and tablet itself, including without root, and is available for free in the Play Store. The only limitation is that the application allows you to recover only deleted photos from an Android device, and not any other files (there is also a paid Pro version - DiskDigger Pro File Recovery, which allows you to restore other types of files).
Using DiskDigger Photo Recovery Android Application for Data Recovery
Any novice user can work with DiskDigger, there are no special nuances in the application.
If your device does not have root access, the procedure will be as follows:
- Launch the application and click “Start Simple Image Search”.
- Wait a while and mark the photos you want to recover.
- Choose where to save the files. It is recommended to save it to the wrong device from which the recovery is performed (so that the restored data is not written over the places in the memory from where it was restored - this may lead to errors in the recovery process).
When restoring to the Android device itself, you will also need to select the folder in which to save the data.
This completes the recovery process: in my test, the application found several long-deleted images, but given that my phone was recently reset to the factory settings (usually after resetting, data from the internal memory cannot be restored), in your case it can find much more.
If necessary, in the application settings you can set the following parameters
- Minimum file size to search for
- Date of files (start and end) to find for recovery
If you have root access on your Android phone or tablet, you can use the full scan in DiskDigger and, with a high probability, the photo recovery result will be better than in the case without root (due to full access of the application to the Android file system).
