Quite often, when I set up or repair a computer for clients, they ask me how to learn how to work on a computer — what computer courses to register for, what textbooks to buy, etc. Frankly, I absolutely do not know how to answer this question.
I can fully show and explain the logic and the process of performing some kind of operation with a computer, but I cannot “teach how to work on a computer”. Moreover, users often themselves do not know what exactly they want to learn.
How did I learn to work with a computer?
Differently. It was just interesting to me, and the expediency of one or another of my actions was very doubtful. I took computer magazines in the school library (1997-98), asked my father to copy the work taken from a friend's QBasic book at work, programmed in Delphi, learning the built-in help (good, good English), as a result, it was preprogrammed before creating a school chat and sprite DirectX toys. Those. I just did this in my free time: I took any material related to computers and completely digested it - so I learned. Who knows, maybe if I were 15-17 years old now, I would rather have Vkontakte get-togethers and, instead of what I know and can do now, I would know about all the trends in social networks.
Read and try
Be that as it may, the network now has a huge amount of information on all aspects of working with a computer, and if a question arises, in most cases it is enough to ask it by Google or Yandex and choose the most understandable instruction for yourself. Sometimes, however, the user does not know what his question is. He just wants to know everything and be able to. Then you can read everything.
For example, I liked the group on Subscribe.ru - Computer Literacy , a link to which you can see in my “useful” block on the right. Given the large number of authors and the focus specifically on the publication of informative articles on computer repair, their settings, using programs, working on the Internet, subscribing to this group and reading it regularly can teach a lot if the reader is interested in this.
And this is not the only source. Their complete internet.
