The question of disabling Windows 10 services and for which of them you can safely change the startup type are usually interested in order to improve system performance. Despite the fact that this can really speed up the work of a computer or laptop, I do not recommend disabling services for those users who are not able to independently solve problems that could theoretically arise after that. Actually, I do not recommend disabling Windows 10 system services at all.
Below is a list of services that can be disabled in Windows 10, information on how to do this, as well as some explanations on individual points. Once again I note: do this only if you know what you are doing. If in this way you just want to remove the "brakes" that are already in the system, then disabling the services most likely will not work, it is better to pay attention to what is described in the How to speed up Windows 10 instructions, as well as to installing the official drivers of your equipment.
The first two sections of the manual describe how to manually turn off Windows 10 services, and also contain a list of those that are safe to turn off in most cases. The third section is about a free program that can automatically turn off "unnecessary" services, as well as return all settings to default values if something goes wrong. And at the end of the video, an instruction that shows everything that is described above.
How to disable services in Windows 10
Let's start with exactly how services are disabled. This can be done in several ways, of which it is recommended to enter the "Services" by pressing Win + R on the keyboard and entering services.msc or through the "Administration" - "Services" control panel item (the second way is to enter msconfig on the "Services" tab ").
As a result, a window with a list of Windows 10 services, their status and type of startup is launched. By double-clicking on any of them, you can stop or start the service, as well as change the type of start.
The types of startup are: Automatically (and delayed option) - start the service when entering Windows 10, manually - start the service at the moment when it was required by the OS or any program, disabled - the service cannot be started.
In addition, you can disable services using the command line (from the Administrator) using the sc config command “Service_name” start = disabled where “Service_name” is the system name used by Windows 10, you can see it in the upper paragraph when viewing information about any of the services by double click).
In addition, I note that the service settings affect all users of Windows 10. These default settings themselves are located in the registry branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ services \ - you can pre-export this section using the registry editor to be able to quickly restore values to by default. Even better is to pre- create a Windows 10 recovery point , in which case it can also be used from safe mode.
And one more note: you can not only disable some services, but also delete them by deleting the components of Windows 10 that you don’t need. You can do this through the control panel (you can enter it through a right-click on startup) - programs and components - enable or disable Windows components .
Services that can be turned off
Below is a list of Windows 10 services that you can disable, provided that the features they provide are not used by you. Also, for individual services, I have provided additional notes that may help make a decision on the advisability of turning off a particular service.

Program for disabling Windows 10 services Easy Service Optimizer
And now about the free program for optimizing the startup parameters of Windows 10 services - Easy Service Optimizer, which allows you to easily disable unused OS services according to three predefined scenarios: Safe, Optimal and Extreme. Warning: I highly recommend creating a recovery point before using the program.
I can’t guarantee it, but it’s possible that using the program for a novice user will be a safer option than disabling the services manually (or even better, the novice should not touch anything in the service settings), since it makes returning to the initial settings easier.
The Easy Service Optimizer interface in Russian (if it didn’t turn on automatically, go to Options - Languages) and the program does not require installation. After starting, you will see a list of services, their current status and startup parameters.
At the bottom there are four buttons that enable the default state of services, a safe option to disable services, optimal and extreme. The planned changes are immediately displayed in the window, and by pressing the upper left icon (or selecting "Apply Settings" in the "File" menu), the parameters are applied.
By double-clicking on any of the services, you can see its name, startup type and safe startup values that will be applied by the program when choosing its various settings. Among other things, through the right-click menu on any service, you can delete it (I do not recommend it).
Easy Service Optimizer can be downloaded for free from the official page sordum.org/8637/easy-service-optimizer-v1-1/ (the download button is at the bottom of the page).
Disable Windows 10 Services Video
And finally, as promised, a video that demonstrates what was described above.
