Quite often on the Internet I come across a question about how to open a particular file. Indeed, it may not be clear to a person who has recently acquired a computer for the first time what kind of game it is in mdf or iso format, or how to open a swf file. I will try to collect all types of files about which such a question arises most often, describe their purpose and what program they can be opened.
How to open common file formats
Mdf, iso - CD image files. In such images, distributions of Windows, games, any programs, etc. can be distributed. You can open it using the free Daemon Tools Lite, the program mounts such an image as a virtual device on your computer, which can be used as a regular CD-ROM. In addition, iso files can be opened with a regular archiver, for example WinRar, and get access to all files and folders contained in the image. If the distribution image of Windows or another operating system is recorded in the iso disk image, then you can burn this image to a CD - in Windows 7 you can do this by right-clicking on the file and selecting “burn image to CD”. You can also use third-party disc burning programs, such as, for example, Nero Burning Rom. After recording the boot disk image, you will be able to boot from it and install the necessary OS. Detailed instructions here: How to open ISO file and here: How to open mdf . The manual describes various ways to open disk images in .ISO format, gives recommendations on when it is better to mount a disk image in the system, when to download Daemon Tools, and when to open an ISO file using the archiver.
